Review:

Just a quick review of the latest incarnation of CSS reources.

Well crafted, stylish and solid code except maybe some bloated inline javascript that could have been placed as a <link> in the header. Did I mention the lovely colors? Nice work.

I'm really flattered but equally bewildered. I anticipate a lesson in skin thickening...

I made mention of this at unmatchedstyle, and I'll repeat it here for good measure: "What I was trying for and what I actually created are two entirely different things -- but that's why it's an experimental personal site, I took a risk and it didn't quite work out."

Definitely different. I like it.

Couple things that bug me though - The footer has that gray colored side instead of the green - which is fine but it's off a few pixels ; also the site is pretty slow - may be the server but it creeps.

Nice job overall.

it's hott!

Dig the contrast from left to right, dig the dividing green lines, dig the datestamp.

I've got no complaints whatsoever :)

whoa, very nice and original. i love the design and layout. my only criticism (which maybe intended), is my eyes go directly to the right of the screen, since the contrast is so high overall, and within that area. i miss the left section right off the bat. but again, that's the "latest news" section, so if you wanted me to see that first, you succeded. :)

Crazy color schems, but it looks good. Very quirky.

Really nice design and the idea.

Only thing is too many colors usage. If u could fade the bottom part of body gray and top part of footer black would look better to fill the obvious seperation between two blocks as the right content become longer.

Still it definitely looks great! :-)

Looks great! Except in windows Firefox 1.0.1 this page looks kriky:

and here: http://www.artypapers.com/csshelppile/

the search "box" flows down next to the "all categories" heading. Not sure if it is a bug or a feature =D

To be completely honest, this is *by far* the hottest site I've seen either featured on Stylegala or anywhere else in a really long time. Totally diggin' the non-traditional layout and the bright colors on top of the brown, it's genius.

Wow. Top 10 of my favorite websites of all time for sure. Probably top 5.

I rated it a 10. I suggest y'all do the same ;)

the retro (seventies?) in full colours...

but somehow i think the retro brown was a little lighter...more milk chocolate than fondant...

but apart from that...wow!

I LOVE IT! It's a lovely original design, and the combination of colours is fantastic (I am biased towards green!!). I really like the previous projects nav on the home page, it feels nice to use and is logical. Great job - it's really good to see different and original layout.

Hi.

I saw this over at unmatchedstyle first, and I still think the colours on the left are simply not contrasting enough with themselves (not compared to the right side!)

On my flat panel monitor I'm really struggling to make out the different shades of brown - especially between the background brown and then the slightly different shade for the main navigation.

The left side just doesn't have that "finished" feel about it - too many different font styles and colors all in one place, whereas the right side looks really cool and fresh.

Don't get me wrong - I applaud the experimental approach to this site design and daring color scheme, but polish up the left side and I think it would be so much better.

Regards,

Chris

David, you beat me to it. I hadn't been to the site in a while, and just happen to click through from my referrer logs, and sat there looking at one of the most exciting sites I'd seen in a long time.

Within about 5 seconds (just long enough to check out the code and make sure it was galaworthy), I came right here to post it and found it had already been taken care of.

I echo Mike's sentiment that this is one of the hottest sites to be posted on a CSS feature site in a *long* time. This is definitely on my short list of best-designed sites of the year.

*Sigh*. My Browser of choice is Opera 8.

And, of course, this site breaks in Opera 8, several layout element is misplaced and over-lapping the middle border. As a webdesigner I can say that this is indeed an interresting layout, but as a user I say that the site stinks.

As user, being forced to switch browser to watch the site in all it's splendor is a bad thing (I most likely won't do it).

An excellent, fantastic site. Not only is there a beautiful against-the-grain design approach, the content is top notch as well — something largely missing these days.

I don't know, probably I'm missing something or just my mind got conservative, but I personally don't like the site. First I thought, it probably had something to do with improper rendering in Safari, but no.

Up to me, the site lacks... some unity, I guess. To me it looks just like a bunch of elements scattered on the page, without mutual connection and visual support. Too much white space, while the text is stuffed into a narrow column... I don't know. Didn't work with me. Sorry for that.

Unique and stylish, cool done with green colors, and colorised stuff on the right side. But I'm a little worried for brown colored layout which is on the left side, perhaps you can think something bright, but not brown. But in any way, the website has good design
