Review:

I saw this site some time ago and got impressed by the consistency in it's design elements throughout the pages. I love the light turquoise blend in the header together with the flat red wallpaper and blacks. Great graphic details and a nice front page as well.

It took some time before I found the menu (it's located near the cross in the header), probably because of the white text color on the light blue background. The code is also quite bloated with div's in the header that could be re-done with cleaner markup.

From the Submitter:

"The aesthetics of conversation. Beauty shots of visual and written narrative with body. No bullhorn required"

I love the overall unique feel of the website, and a larger type size for the newer posts on the top of the home page seem to draw me into the site, or that specific post. Overall the design is very consistent and the colors work well together. The site is easy to look at and very useable, but web "beginners" may find the site a little difficult to navigate compared to the usual "right out in front" navigation they're used to

I have always liked this site, and his latest re-design is great. The only thing I miss is the old olive drab green color from "Tone Shift."

A rather nice balance of wicked worn and straight forward, clean design.

This is one of my favorite sites because it's fresh, a bit edgy, sophisticated color scheme, play of textures. Just love it.

A great design from Matt Wiseman whom I consider to be one of New Zealand's leading CSS web designers.

A great break away from traditional web site layout - this is a site for other designers to inspire and inform... Aside from the design, the site is entertaining, and the copy warm and friendly - and fun to read! Great work Matt - I love this site...

Cool looking for sure, but after looking around for a while I didn't have a clear idea of what this site was actually about. Worse than that, when I tried to read an article to find out I had a hard time reading the small, white, serif font on top of stripes.

Oh, and ... how do you navigate around? I know I could "figure it out" but I don't think I should have to - on anyone's site. It should be clear, but maybe that's just me.

For me a site has to look good, function intuitively, and be readable for it to all come together. (But I'll admit that, as a designer, 'look good' rates at the top, so I still enjoyed the chance to have a look at this site.)

I totally agree with Mani. My immediate reaction was "wow nice design" but it took some time to figure the site out, once I did I got to reading a post then felt a slight pain behind my eyes realizing it was fonts and the bright negative red :/

Overall it's great but I wouldnt be regular until something is done about font/background.

The site sure is renewing, but some color combinations are just not my "thing" ( the blue and red f.e. )
