Review:

Another analogue book-styled website that looks fantastic. Great background for the purpose and the menu chapters works well. And yes, it expands as you enlarge the text. Impressive.

I love the look and feel, and the scalability is very impressive, though I do think the beat up book look is getting a little bit worn, but it always seems to work.

Very nice and similar to one of a member's site, as well :

Wow, to all those designers out there who think you can't have a visually attractive design without using pixels for height, just look at this site. It really works.

I disagree, Rose's site doesn't hold up to large text at all, even with graphics turned off!

Just to make it clear: E-knjige is Croatian for E-books. The site owner (who is also a web designer) is a writer. This site actually features his books.

Relax. Maybe I should rephrase... look and feel is similar.

And besides, I said "similar", not "identical".

As I already stated on various forums I love this site! Perfect use of textures, patterns, shadows created a great atmosphere.

I am proud of my fellow Croatian. :)

When I saw this website for the first time, I thought: "A book metaphor, once again - is there no other way to present information online?"

100 years ago when the first cars were designed they still looked liked carriages; it took some time to develop an independent form for those new vehicles

maybe, we have to be patient...

I had the same tought as Matthias here: "oh no a book... again...". The further implementation of the website is well done, but it remains "cliché".

I saw similar layout but on flash, well done on CSS and HTML.

A gift basket website with a difference! It is not only the diversity of the gifts and how magnanimously the gifts have been put together that impressed me immensely but also the plethora of knowledge, in the form of articles, on the website that are truly an amazing wealth of knowledge. This website is definitely a 'must-visit' when you are looking for gifts and much more.

Graphically the site is beautiful but I find the content a bit lacking. Perhaps because I can't read the language, but even if I could most of the pages look empty and it leaves me with a feeling that there should be more in such a nice design.
