Review:
It took a couple of views before I decided to add the farwoods design site to the gallery. I don't know - it's just a really solid site with some great standards-compilant coding and nice visual touches. It looks pretty standard at first, but there is a lot of nifty details going on under the hood. Super-clean, valid markup with a well executed accessabiliy effort and I also believe that the xhtml content is served with the correct mime-type. The overall design impression is not wildly innovative, but it stays out of the way and gives a pleasant overall browsing experience. Those rollover-dropshadows looks quite familiar though... Great job.

Its a nice site but for me it's too close to http://www.fortymedia.com/ to be counted as an original design
(Previous discussion continued . Please post only comments related to the site in question in here. For the last time.)
Alright being constructive then, the layout does resemble 40 media and the drop shadow image on the left does look familiar. But still it is a solid design, I would have to say that the main navigation doesn't stand out enough.
This is indeed a nice site, but it seems that there is something that is just not quite right about it. I can't quite put a finger on it, but there's something that I just don't like. I still give it an 8, though.
I like the site overall. I think the layout works well. I do think that the large image on the left is a bit distracting to me and isn't too interesting as a photo. The colors work well. I think the headers look nice, but the rest of the typography is bland. It gets a 6 from me.
On the surface the design looks good. It sets some sort of expectation, however I feel that the expectation is as clouded as the central focus of the homepage. "What am I supposed to be doing here?" - design is about direction and directing - this is not very obvious here. I find that the flow of movement does not have a harmony. I don't think that the overall execution was done very well. This barely scrapes through, because it's painstakingly designed, but without a global vision. A 5.
Green is my favourite color combination i think... (when uset with itself that is)... me like!
