Review:
I wonder how many PC users have Garamond installed? If you do, this site will look much better than if you don't. In fact, garamond looks really nice on screen and I wish microsoft would put some more quality fonts like garamond in their operating system as default. The analogue angled images with inspired labels gives the site a pleasant feel with a nice balance of elements. Adobe-like colors and a small, simple but effective menu wraps it all up in a nice overall experience.

Looks just like something you would buy off template monster. Infact, hada aquick look over there and there's 3 templates that look VERY similar. PS - i've got garamond installed.
Not valid.
Are a lot of validation errors, extra divs & li
However the design is nice, nice liquid layout that works well + the graphics stand out.
Not too keen on the popups for photo gallery & contact though, why are they required??
The thumbnail raised my expectations, but on the site I really don't think the rough looking labels go very well with the navigation. Also I feel the typography (at least on the home page) is a bit too cluttered.
BTW, in a test (www.visibone.com/font/FontResults.html) 75% of PCs and 24% of Macs has Garamond installed.
The style and design is very crisp and the photorealistic elements blend well together in the website.
My only beef, and it has already been mentioned, is the use of Garamond. I expected that the text would downgrade to one of the browser fonts but instead I can only see wacky characters.
I am using Firefox 0.9.3 for OSX and would expect at least to see a replacement font.
is it just me or you can't tell what Jeffrey Rovell actually do from his website? it is very confusing and lack any kind of characterization...
I agree the code is bunk under the hood -- poorly unsemantic, not accessible (which I find a lot aren't now adays)... and I'm surprised to see the long hand CSS!
Now, the top does look like a template layout... but, whoever created the left folder + photo + stickies has some experienced photoshop skills -- and it's nice to see other experienced photoshop users making realistic pieces, alot of CSS sites don't. Doesn't make it great or horrible design, but it does showcase a skillset.
