Review:

CSS and Flash, sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!

You get the point.

As Simon, and a lot of web designers may agree, it's can be quite difficult creating a website for someone who is a creator themselves--illustrators, musicians, etc.--but proves that with proper communication, two different viewpoints can merge together, and the marriage is oh-so-beautiful.

This site is an example of the excellent merging of Flash elements within clean, standards-driven code. It's a visual treat that adds rare interactivity in what could have been a very static site. Jon Burgerman did an excellent job with the design and Simon couldn't have done a better job developing it.

Even better, Simon has a about the design.

Hey, thanks for the review, and Jon will be pleased. You hit the nail on the head when it comes to building for someone with good visual ideas and pre-defined site layout. In that sense I've done very little except turn Jon's ideas into XHTML and CSS.

I think the site will evolve with time. Still a bit to do, and maybe better use of the main column space. The important thing is that Jon's "fans" like the new design, so that's a good start.

The site looks superb, I love Burgerman's stuff and the use of his art in this electronic form is just amazing!!! It should definitely open him up to more fans!! Both Jon and the web designer Simon obviously have a lot of mutual respect as it apperars that the 2 "artists" really made this work.

Just looked at The Glade site.I'm quite new to this but all I wanted to know, as many potential users of the site would, was the price of the properties and couldn't see this information soon enough. Certainly not after three clicks so I gave up. Also thought the photographs didn't give much away. The site, though pleasing with its pared-down feel, left me a bit frustrated. Wondered if "Fench doors" are similar to French doors or has the proofreading been overlooked!
