Review:

Beautiful and well designed web site for the American Red Cross 2004 Annual Report. I love the big image on the front page, and the well-designed layouts and typography. The code is clean enough, but they seem to be utilizing div's where other tags would be more appropriate, and the menu rollovers uses some nasty dreamweaver javascripts instead of the clean and semantic CSS approach. Nice, clean shapes though and some juicy colors. I just wish they'd randomly rotate more photos on the front page, but that's just me.

Nice, subtle use of Flash on the home page. The depth created by "stacking" the photos on top of each other as well as the menu is a great touch.

However, the use of grey text can make readability difficult for some users. The "cutlines" under the photos on the secondary pages are especially hard to read. (Mind you this is a sin I'm guilty of myself)

It's just a matter of good manners to have a loading status bar for a Flash movie, so that you can tell how much is left before the movie is loaded. As well as images for the navigation should be preloaded.

Other than that, I love the site, it's done very well. Definetely goes to my bookmarks into the "Good Design" section.
