Review:
Read Hat has played and still plays a very important role in the software development area. More and more large institutions and companies rely on as their main operating system, and their success is a great victory for the open source community. Red Hat now also features a really solid web site built with web standards and CSS as front end technologies. Vibrant colors, smooth rounded edges and very accessible. The design is not ground braking in any way, but very solid in it's presentation and layout.

I posted this site as a news item at stylegala a few weeks ago - good to see it in the gallery.
I don't think the DESIGN for a corporate like Redhat needs to be "ground breaking". An elegant site that delivers the goods would be much better than one that pleases the eye but leaves the user guessing as to how to use it. When it's done with web standards, now THAT indeed is ground breaking.
Besides, how many big companies have standards compliant web sites?
I agree with you 100% Prabhath. The most important thing is that Red Hat actually made their website using Web standards. I wish and hope more corporations will follow suit.
sometimes its easy to forget that the primary function of design is communication. too often the 'funkiness' of a site is rated higher than communication.
