Review:
tells me that Rentokil Initial are one of the first large FTSE100 corporations to adopt web standards. While it's design is nothing new or revolutionary, this site need to be featured of other reasons.
A quick look under the hood tells me that someone with great knowledge of accessibility and web standards has been fiddling with the code. The site expands graciously upon text-resize and all pages I tested passed the vaildation without any errors. The code is very clear and semantic and proper tags are used all over the place to describe exactly what they mean. And this is particularly rare amongst our submissions.
The site is super-easy to navigate through and everything seems to be on the right place. I also enjoy the global use of percentages and em's which makes entire site expands upon text resize.
As said, the design is not exactly an eye-opener, it uses a classic combo of red, blue and white together with the familiar verdana and subtle gradients. On the other hand, it doesn't stay in the way of the content and the typography seems to be in order. A truly great site in many ways, but a special star for what's under the hood. Congrats!

Thanks for the fair and balanced review! Everyone that took part in building this site has done a great job.
Sorry, but while the underlying code is nice, the resizing of the entire site bothers me. If you're on 800x600 and resize the text, the entire site resizes with it and then you have horizontal scrolling. That's unnecessary. Add the boring design into the mix and I just can't get enthusiastic about it.
Yeah the design is perhaps not very original, but the code is superb. The site resizing when resizing the text is annoying if you have 800x600 res, but im impressed with the fact that all measurements are relative and the layout remains really tight. Lovin your work!
The background flickers unpleasantly while scrolling. The design is tight but a little boring. But the Code is very good!
Given the nature of the company, the “standard“ design seems kind of fitting. Looks like the code is very nice as well. The one thing that struck me, however, is that I had to get 3/4’s of the way down the screen to even understand what the company actually does. And, for some reason, the site redesign seems to take precedence over the services the company actually provides.
So, traditional design, great code, but the information presented seems to care more about web design than making money for the company.
Nice site, not too "stand out," but nice.
The site, though a little drab, is rather nice. The only objection I have is the top right menu seems a little misplaced and might be better served in the footer. Also the order, placing "accessibility" first, seems a little zealous by the designer. Users of this site, probably care little about web standards and accessibility.
I like to shrink it down to the 2nd lowest it will go in firefox and browse it. ITS SO CUTE.
Sorry, it does not make it to my list, at all. Even if the code is superb, the users care about the visual. A website is like a huge commercial banner for your company, and this site does not tempt me into reading anything, sorry.
Nice code. As a web hacker in the corporate sector, it's nice to see some of the bigger fish take an interest in being sold this stuff vs the "why can't we have a rigid, table based layout" bluff we usually get faced with.
One negative, though - the images seem to show a LOT of jpeg artifacting. Maybe toning that down a bit would help make the site feel that bit more sharp?
Great attention to detail here on the accessibility front. I love the resizing of all of the images when you bump up your text size.
Good work!
Nice composition and use of colour. The 'zoom' layout is great - although the visuals aren't ground breaking, the more sites featured that use the 'zoom' method the better.
nice codes
The site is sharp, clean, and businesslike. I would certainly use their services.
Personally I think the layout is a bit dull. The news is just a block of red text with no separation and the footer text is microscopic.
Personally I think this is a very basic layout - nothing impressive.
