Review:

This is one of those sites that will grow as time goes by. Frosty and pale, yet flourished and contemporary with beautiful imagery. I like how the minimalistic design stays away from the main focus and supports the content. The code is minimal, standard-compilant and valid, without pushing it by using the "valid XHTML!" buttons or validation links. A perfect site to browse at the end of a stressful day.

The site is very good, but one thing that I found confusing was the "Photography - Virtue - Preservance" under the title. It look like links, especially as the nav is actually at the bottom, and so I ended up trying to click them...

I have long been a fan of Ryans, that is why he is listed in my Non-Stupid 2004 Weblog Design Awards.

If you are a fan of his site you should stop by and vote for him, he is up against Hicks, Inman and Sims.

How do they get the outtershadow effect to work as the page auto-extends? I've seen it on Mike Davidson's blog (mikeindustries.com) too. I just don't understand how it works. Does anyone know a tutorial or can briefly explain it to me? (post in the forums and I'll find the link)

Otherwise, beautiful site! Deserves at least an 8.

Beautiful, simple and clean. And I love the subtle but detailed graphics.

Like Turnip, I too tried clicking the text under the title (the whole header image is clickable - perhaps only the title should be made a link to the home page, and the navigation could be placed somewhere easier to spot?)

Anyway, the site really does serve its purpose, and looks good while doing it.

The navigation on the site could use some work, but that's just my opinion. Otherwise, the site is excellent!

Looks like every other "white," minimalist site with delicate little wisps of graphical molding out there with the added bonus of having the navigation hidden at the bottom and disguised as unclickable image-text on the top.

I mean, I like the photography and all, but the site design is boring and worse, hackneyed.

I agree with jtnt the site design is identical to all the other sites likes this. I too thought the images at the top were links. The photography however is sublime.
