Review:

With photoblogs, the content is the design, and simplicity is always the best way to keep the photos as the main event.

Pete's design here at first glance seems very ordinary at first, but with almost every successful design, the devil is in the details: you can navigate through the photos by either clicking the left or right-hand side of the current photo or by clicking on the older vs. newer at the top. Pete has also implemented rotating header colours to match the main hue of the photographs below, which keeps the pages fresh, and the header also resizes in regards to the width of the photo. Nice.

The only caveat I have is the pop-up comments, and the layout within seems kind of rushed--it doesn't even have the treemeat logo on it anywhere, nor any lines, colours, or borders to delineate the comment fields, which makes it hard for someont to post a comment.

The other suggestion I have to work with the rotating headers is to rotate a lighter logo during the darker pictures, as it gets completely lost in the darkness.

Hey, thanks for linking me up. Just wanted to let you know that the comment field borders have been fixed (it was only a problem in FireFox, so I didn't notice right away), and I've added a lighter version of the logo/nav for dark colors.

Thanks again, glad you like it!

Absenter.org seems to be Treemeat's long lost brother. Both are beautiful, with similar elements, like header/footer colour changes to match the main hue of the photograph, plus width changes to fit the photo's size. I wonder if it will become a fast trend in photography sites to have that?
