Review:

Well, if I didn't review this one, somebody would...

This site brings back some of the interactivity that has been missing as of late in our blog-laden industry. It use Flash wisely and with restraint.

And I think it is very attractive. It is just fun to look at. The level of detail will keep you engaged long enough to learn all you need to know about the company, and then some. They maybe went a little overboard with the hand-drawn arrows and footnotes, but it is not too bad...

The variation in content design from section to section is also very nice. It would be a shame for a site like this to fall into a rut once you got below the navbar level.

The code is well structured with a good separation of content and presentation. The Flash seems to degrade nicely into ordered lists if the user has Javascript turned off or no plugin installed (I didn't check it myself, but a study of the code is pretty self-explanatory).

And c'mon, ya gotta love those characters and the animations. They alone make this site worth the visit. Those Croatians know how to rock the new style.

Check it.

Really loved this site. The style and quality of the illustrations is just superb. Glad to see something different!

Visually I really like this site. It's fun and colorful and unigue. But there is just too much going on to easily make heads or tails of it, at least for me. It's distracting and well, if you want to read or navigate you really have to be invested and concentrate.

But it is cool.

What can I say... Magnificent.

We see a lot of clean, business oriented websites today (I love them myself), but this one just cheered me up. Especialy as I've been fan of their work for quite some time.

Bravo neighbours!

As a designer I loved it. As a user I was confused. I agree with Keith that it's very difficult to make sense of things right off the bat. Stylistically it's beautiful and it's definately something I haven't seen before, but I still have to ask myself "what's the point"? If the point is to clearly communicate "who they are" and "what they do" to potential clients I think it could be a bit confusing.

I never comment on these, but this looked so repulsive I felt obligated to. I can't read a damn thing on it, everything's smooshed together, and the palette isn't quite right. The flash is very distracting-- everythign always moving doesn't guarantee the DYNAMISM we're looking for in design.

It's form over content, but both form and content are banal. The form keeps me from even caring about whatever this site is supposed to be all about. It needs redone totally. Yuck. I gave you a one, sorry, chief.

superb colors and characters! i just a little worried about those movements whenever i rollover on the next animated box. i felt a li'l drowned by too much animations. hmmnn, maybe it's okay since it's a superhero kind of a site. But it's clean and cool.

commentat 01:17 on 20 April 2005, Rob Weychert wrote:

The illustrations and color scheme are fantastic, and this site has a very fun personality, but the navigation really wants for hierarchy. Like said, I have to be really interested to do the amount of digging necessary to actually use the site.

However, I don’t think it would be too difficult to remedy this. Adjusting the main navigation a bit to make each button’s function more immediately apparent (bumping up the section title’s point size and/or having a uniform title position within the buttons) would be a big step in the right direction.

I love the look of the site, and I hope it can eventually function a little better without sacrificing its visual flavor. The work in the portfolio tells me these guys are definitely capable of it.

Hi all!

For a start, it is an honor to be showcased on stylegala.

Thank you all for your comments and time. We appreciate it very much.

We considered and internally argued over some of your comments, so we made couple of minor changes.

@user josh:

We were doing a lot of portals lately, e-zines and corporate sites... and we are getting sick of that, more or less (at least us designers). We will not stop doing stuff like that, because we have to earn some cash so we can play quake in peace :).

With this design, we are trying to ehm… jump out of the box titled: “web.burza? Yeah, they're doing corporate stuff…”. We are in that box because nobody wants to pay us to do something different.

And besides that, this design is a true, honest and accurate representation of us (except that in real life we all have noses). :)

@rob:

Thx m8. Is this any clearer? :)

Cheers!

I'm commenting on this site at quite a late stage, since quite a few people have already done so.

I think this site is great - whilst opinion may be divided about flash in general, I believe that this site uses it to great affect.

It's fantastic to see something different here - this, and it's polished graphical style must have something to do with the amount of comments

Great!

Really great design, but I would expect a comic and not a webdesign company. Colours are perfect combined and the flashs are funny.

commentat 17:54 on 01 September 2006, Hobbes wrote:

I have to agree with Reisen's comment. It's artistically beautiful, but if part of design is to match your purpose - then I don't think it works as well. I expect the site to be about a comic strip, not a webdesign company and it seems really cluttered. My first impression was one of confusion as to what I was looking at.
