I definitely do love it; don't know whether it's the best portfolio in the world or not - if you could even ever say such a thing anyway - but it is inspirational allright. Great projects and a cool way of presenting it. Thumbs up here

A very nice work indeed. I guess the video presentation makes is very valuable when browsing portfolios - eg in order to find a designer. But I wonder: Will people take/have that much time? Anyhow, very nice work with loads of fine details. Worth a visit that's for sure.

Some good stuff and he has loads of talent. What is really interesting is that he's also a great salesman. He knows how to explain and "sell" his ideas and art - something that is often hard to do (by us "artists").

Beautiful work for sure, but the usability stinks.

I have to agree and disagree. The portfolio is nice.. far fetched to give it a best title. But the website is a great tool. It takes a lot to sell a idea or product and I think he does it well. He's passionate about his work and it shows. So I say this is a great portfolio website.

I think this portfolio is just okay. It's not necessarily original or anything. Flash seems like overkill too.

this guy... how can he be 25 and do all this stuff? incredible dedication. the yeah vid was awesome.

i think the website is very good, it realy is something new.

The transitions are absolutely stunning, Its nice to see some flash sites these days. My only complaint is navigation can be unclear at times.

commentat 05:35 on 08 March 2006, David B. wrote:

that was awesome. i like the time and effort he put in. hes got skills. made javascript to make it all work thought. wonder what thats all about.

i dont know what would make a site 'original' to folks nowadays. i think the only way someone is going to come upwith an original site is if they figure out how to makethe users computer get up and dance arround or something.

its a square flat screen people and millions of people use it, of course you are going to see hints of other design elements you recognize ...gosh ...

kind of makes you want to go Portfolio Center tool, looks like they have lots of fun at that school.

that guy is incredibly productive.

Lovely transitions. It's a nice portfolio to hang around.

It's not only showing of his work, but he's even telling how he did it: superb !

This is really is the best portfolio I've ever seen, and anyone who says it isn't is really lying to try and make themselves feel more signifigant. This guy may VERY well be the best flash designer out there =).

I really enjoyed this portfolio even though i hate not being able to use the back button ;)

In response to Calvin Froedge...

I do agree that this is a very nice portfolio, well presented with a somewhat unique style.

But it is by no means anywhere near the best flash work I have seen. No offence to the designer but its hardly using the most advanced of techniques. What he does use is well executed but come-on he hasn't even styled the default flv media-player or its controls ;)

I think it is most important to look at this portfolio from a graduating student perspective. It is inspiring that a new entry into the field can work so hard. This portfolio site pulls in an element of humanity that we rarely see in design portfolios, and it's refreshing.

I don't question the useability. You are invited to explore and are well rewarded with rich presentations. I truly feel rewarded for spending the time to fully explore the site.

This isn't simply showing screenshots of work. The interactive quality of the Wachovia presentation adds another layer of sophistication to what could have just been a bunch of screenshots.

Finally, why would you use the latest bleeding edge technology and most likely cut out half or more of your viewers? That is an empty statement.

This portfolio is the best of 2006, and possibly the world because of the genuine human connection with the artist. It is unfortunate to see that so many designers have become so jaded.

This is the best overall portfolio website I have ever seen. I have seen other great sites in the past, but none that capture the artisit's personality and take you into his world the way that Dave does. I feel like I know him. The work is great and the site is amazing. I am so inspired by what this guy has done. I hope to bump into him in the NYC design scene.

Wow. I agree with the above, this is the best I’ve seen in 10 years. I’ve browsed many sites, seen the best of the best, but I’ve never seen a portfolio where the designer brings you into his world. His ability to edit video is very impressive. Many of the elements used on his site have been done before, but I’ve never seen a designer grab us buy the hand and take us on a tour through each project, while basically showing you his creativity in more ways than one. His creativity is simply amazing. But not only his creativity, but his ability to show off his creativity and his skill-set using flash, video editing, illustration, print work, hip-hop rapping skills. This kid will be making movies one day, possibly a multi millionaire 40. His communication ability, skill-set, creative ability and dedication along warrants any high-end creative director position with any large firm (and he’s only 25, damn). Is it me or does this site make you wanna redesign your entire portfolio? :)

This is by far the best portfolio site of 2006. Design is a lot about presentation and his presentation sells extremely well. When you go out on an interview employers ask questions about your work and Dave answers these questions in advance. I think it's the best way to present the work and I'm sure we'll see a lot of people using his design as reference.

I think it all depends how you define 'best'. If you are defining 'best' in terms of Flash technique, they yeah, maybe it's not the best out there. But I think in terms of effectiveness, emotional impact and in simple 'would you hire him to work for you', then I would say yeah, definitely the best that I've seen.

commentat 21:42 on 05 January 2008, Logo Designers wrote:

this is absolutely fantstic . would you hire him? Yes. Does his site build trust? Yes. And it's very original how some aspects of his portfolio are like the logos for instance - lcicking on them and seeing the notes etc. I absolutely love this guys site.
