Databases Get Better At Managing XML Data

The Web supports a massive amount of content formatted in XML, the standard method for structuring online documents and data. Relational databases, however, have had a hard time handling XML documents, which are structured as a hierarchy--a set of nodes, stored in sequence--and don't fit the rows-and-columns tabular format used by those databases.

I had to think for a second before commiting myself to write this comment but Simon, I’m with you on the techie side but I have noticed a lot of comments being very techie/server side. The essence of stylegala was (and still is) showcasing the latest semantic coding and highlighting outstanding design work, it would be nice to see the news focus on this a little more.

I hope this doesent seem too much of another whiney post :)
