IMHO the redesign wasnt particularly good. Like many others have said, it looks like a domain holding site. The Trebuchet font I'm not a fan of either.

There are several tools that allow you to search the site without ever visiting the homepage. I think the subpages do the job better than the previous design. Something to keep in mind.
