On the issue of Falkner Winery
"Look, design doesn't just happen. It's a process of creation and deconstruction that can take days-to-months before every element, color, and bit of typography is in the right place. [...] When someone 'borrows' my work s/he is cheating because they didn't have to go through the love and hate process that it took for us to create that layout or element detail."

The whole story is disgusting but what makes it so much worse is the guy's blatant disinterest in the whole debacle. I say the only way this sort of thing will stop is if laws change to allow the true designers to sue the pants off the guilty parties - successfully.
Airbag could be made available to assist in getting out of an uncomfortable situation and provide an original design.
Personally, I'm not sure what upset the guy at Airbag more, the fact that the guy didn't think it was a stolen design, or the guy didn't hire him to make a new design for him.
It seemed the main reason he sent an email in the first place was because he thought the guy would hire him.
That's not how Greg operates, Smith. This was a genuine gesture to help someone escape what would soon become a very embarassing situation ( noted it before Greg made his post).
the joyent site also copied the offset background that matches the inner pages background.
did you go after them to? I highly doubt they were the first. Its used on 457346745745 different blogs.
no connection to the lame vineyard site, just curious why you would single out one and not the other for the same thing?
good point cameron
