Bruce Sterling notes that teensy teensy horrid little text is hard to read. Visit his blog and tell me if you find it ironic.

didn't know that parentheses should come in sets of 3 in progressive 2007 web design..

While I'm concious of the fact that web sites and their designs have evolved drastically in the last few years, it's interesting to note that the critique of these web sites is still trapped in the past.

I had to increase my browser size about 5 times to actually read anything on that page, ironic.

Well, yes, you *would* find all these annoyances keenly familiar, Mr Sterling, since your own blog is guilty of a few of them. Yikes.

There's a reason why it's in the top ten mistakes.

As noted in the comments on Roger's website, this small text is the result of a missing closing span tag, and is not intentional.

If you are going to write something about the "2006 top ten mistakes in Web design" then it would be a good idea to make sure you are not guilty of at least 4 or 5 of them. This article reminds me of when they would bring prison inmates to my school and give motivational talks on staying out of trouble. He missed a span tag...okay, but did he not test it to make sure it looked right? How can you sit there and say things like "Consistency is one of the most powerful usability principles..." and have a site that has not one but two flash ads that make it extremely hard to read anything. On top of that the color selection is absolutely horrendous. I don't know...I read the article yesterday and found it highly ironic...at first I thought it was kind of like that website a few years ago, "websitesthatsuck.com" and their site was an example of everything wrong with websites...
