what exactly does this have to do with web design? nothing at all...
Granted it is public and it is news, so...
true, but I think the public news should be related to design in some way. now if he had commented about the site desing or something, I'd be fine with it
Shame on you Australia? You mean shame on the alcohol-fueled, angry young men (bogans, rednecks, whatever) in this particular area of Sydney.
The vast majority of Australians deplore this criminal behaviour and I personally would like to see these people prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
Every Australian I know is disgusted by what took place on Sunday.
Way to group us all together with one ridiculous generalization.
granted, I don't think this has place here, and it's certainly not all australians(and probably not even 1%!), it's still news that everybody needs to hear about and realise how extremely shamefull it is that our society('s) still allow people like this to express themselves in such ways.
Shame on you StyleGala. You're generalising about people who are generalising. Pot calling the kettle black isn't it?
You wouldn't want all of us Australians to generalise about the quality of this site based on this one completely irrelevant article would you?
"Shame on you StyleGala" now your doing the same thing. This is a public news section where anyone can post. One person posted something ignorant out of thousands of users.
"Public news section"? Perhaps you can explain the "News Contributors" column on the right, and the suspicious lack of an "Add news item" button on this page.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as I understand it StyleGala's public news isn't public at all.
The left hand column is the actual Stylegala new team section the right hand column is public. At the bottom of the right column there is a form called "broadcast news" that you can fill out to add news items.
The "broadcast news" form is on the front page by the way..
Interesting seeing this sort of generalization happening towards a group other than Americans. In both cases this type of generalization is of course wrong. Just as it would have been wrong if it had been used against the French during their recent and related problems.
I just think its funny that some of the people here and undoubtly elsewhere read the story and say that it is horrible what happened sunday and condem then condemn one group. ie the french comment. strikes me as odd that some people want to blame one side, when in this case. it was the 'aussies' that started it and the inccedent Sunday was an act of revenge. Not that revenge is good or that I condone either inccedent, but i think we as a global community need to deplore action of this sort on all sides.
Shame on Australia? Congratulations on being the biggest ignorant prat I've encountered on the internet since the idiot who thought New Zealand was the capital of Australia.
But thank you Ben, I think you took the words right out of my mouth.
I stand corrected Colin - thanks for pointing that out. I'm very happy that it's not indeed StyleGala who posted this comment, but I agree with everybody else, that this really is not the place to be discussing it.
"...since the idiot who thought New Zealand was the capital of Australia."
new zealand is NOT the capital of australia?!
I was intenionaly provocative although I still think that these incidents are a shame on the face of the Australian society. I find it very interesting to say at least that many of you cannot stand a little critisism.
