Stop submitting all your articles to Stylegala... God. >_>
I actually found his article very helpful. At least he's not selling something or blatantly self-promoting. I have submitted a few of my articles to Stylegala before, if I felt like it's something that would genuinely benefit the community.
I post articles on Stylegala in order to get my ideas out to the design community. If you aren't interested in my articles then just don't click. Why should I hold back articles that could potential help people, just because I've posted articles before?
the point is that you post sooo much that it has become spam. you ARE self promoting at this point. posting an article here and there that is funny of has some relevance to a design tech is fine. but you border on self promotion , almost like you dont have your own audience so you try to gain one by posting here.
a better solution would be to start a forum thread and update it regularly. if you check most others they post maybe once a month. you post something EVERY WEEK, and most of the time it isnt something overly useful, its mostly just old rehashed things. and it is become more than mildy annoying.
I think the recent influx of spam has made us all a little too quick to dismiss Public News postings. The frequency with which a person posts their articles does not really matter if they genuinly feel that the article is a benefit to the community.
My suggestion to Nick is to set up a feed so that people who are interested in your articles will know when you've update and you won't have to announce all of them at Stylegala.
You make an excellent suggestion Thame. And so, I have set up an articles rss feed:
http://www.ibloomstudios.com/articles.xml
<shamless plug>and if you need it automated, if you are not using WP or TP I have a tutorial brought to you by http://www.php-for-beginners.co.uk/ over on my site slim.climaxdesigns.com</shameless plug>
David B, if I didn't know any better, I'd say that your last comment is exactly the type of self-promotion you're criticizing Nick for -- except perhaps that your url isn't hyperlinked.
actually John Parker no it is not. the fact that i 1. didnt hyperlink it on purpose, and 2 i dont post to the news section once a week or so makes that different. it all tongue in cheek, the point whether or not someone posts here is not in question, the question is how often is good usage and how often equates to spam and self promotion?
Shut up you cocksucking nerds. This was a good article and I wouldn't have found it so easily if it wasn't on a portal like this. Go find something better to do and stop trolling.
