CNN goes 3

Seems like CNN realized that people actually use screen resolutions higher than 800x600.. so they redesigned their landing page.

I like the new look, also for anyone outside of the US you will have to click the US version to see the redesign. The International version is still the old one.

The only complaint that I could come up with is the lack of fluidity in the design. I know a lot of older people who use 800x600 and won't be able to appreciate the new design. Just my thoughts though.

I wish sites would stop using underline to denote hyper-links. Using a dotted underline or simply having the font another color makes readability SO MUCH EASIER.

If you're going to make a wide site, use a liquid layout.

Also, why underline some links, but not others?

CNN website is not accessible by the screen readers, therefore, it's designed for everybody, but the disabled. hmmmm.....

It's amazing that they don't follow some of the even most obvious accessibility guidelines. I often increase the font size when reading the site, but the heights of all of their boxes (including all navigational elements) are fixed in pixels, so increasing font size means you can no longer see some of the content! Even without increasing the font size, text flows outside of some of the containing elements and cannot be read (this happens for many of the descriptions when viewing their free video). Simply resizing some heights to be in em units instead of pixels would fix the problem...
