Just in time for April Fool's Day, we've decided to release OfficePoltergeist for Mozilla.

Shexy -- it should (at least theoretically) work just fine. Does it throw any errors in the Javascript console?

Sorry... just to follow up, I figured out what was up with the Mac version. Apparently, you've gotta be root to use a port lower than 1024, so on the Mac, OfficePoltergeist now just uses port 13013 instead.
