Yahoo! New Home Page
I am not sure how much of their user page is getting served this new page, but it looks better than the old. Much less clutter.

meh, still looks a mess ;), but it is what it is. i would like to see one of the big companies go the google way. or even in a non search engine looking page.
not talking about losing the focus of what it is but something totally different, not even sure it would look like, jut different from what it is now. maybe more open space less links on the homepage. more imagery for the browser, sever up a different style sheet without the imagery for a pda or other hand held...
I saw it a few days ago once but haven't seen it since. I thought it was a big improvement. Must be in final stage testing before it goes live.
Looks the same to me.
ummm.. its been like that for a really long time.
Yea, the website has been that way for quite a long time. As far as something unique, it is a search engine. And going the Google way is for Google, not for Yahoo or etc. We have to always remember that people use search engines, not necessarily the web savy.
They are test the new page, and only some people see the new page. You can find screenshots on www.brainfuel.tv.
What is Yahoo!7...
the Seven network is one of Australia's free-to-air TV stations, and they recently joined up with Yahoo. It's just like MSNBC in the US (I think)
oh ok i havent seen yahoos home page in so long i thought what is ther now was new.
the screen shots on brainfuel are nice. better organization.
@Dominickr what does being web savy have to do with a page looking nice or being well organized. i think that is a big misconception to think that average joe cannot understand or navigate a nicely organized page . that fits into all these articles going arround about 'ugly design'.
we need to get away from thinking that average joe cant appreciate good design. IMHO
http://www.brainfuel.tv/yahoo-continues-to-tweak-homepage
has the pictures of hte new site that I was refering to. http://au.yahoo.com/ is not what I was talking about. Those from brainfuel, I think atleast, look much better and more organized.
I think it's a step back. Less color just makes it blend in with all the other no-name sites. The better navigation and what not is useless cuz who seriously goes to yahoo for news. I guess the only thing really putting me back is the color aspect. It's just grey, which for me doesn't make me wanna go back. Just an opinion.
