Do you ever notice the people who opine the most about design and present themselves as experts have little to show for being a designer?

I'm amazed that the comment I left at the end of the linked article yesterday was deemed unsuited for publication and has now gone the way of the dinosaurs. for an article that deals with one's ability to handle criticism, they sure don't practice what they preach! and yes joe, i agree. for starters, if you're a designer, learning to accept criticism is pretty much part of the job, not really something that should strike you in some kind of brilliant flash of light. it's old news, written up, linked to repeatedly, and 9rules gets a higher PR. woohoo.
