Happy Cog Studios launches a great redesign of the popular reference network. (Thesaurus.com, Dictionary.com, Reference.com) Clean, simple and very user-friendly.

It's pretty generic if you ask me. I mean it's not bad, but if I would have done the re-design - which I think I'm capable of doing something like this - no one would be posting on Stylegala about it. They are getting a free pass because of thier name.. that's all I'm saying.

I agree, it is an improvement overall, but hardly awesome.

what would be awsome is if they removed all the annoying flashing adds

Crappy site, tried it in Firefox and the tabs for the other reference sites don't work (tested in IE and they work perfectly)... CRAP! Don't actually like the design personally also.

i agree about the design but i think that comes from a designer perspective, comeing from a laypersons perpective the site is probably a major improvement. we have to think about the audience of the site. by and large they are going to be everyday people, so some major change might throw them off and stop them from using the resource. to much confusiion on a site like that will cause heavy user loss IMHO, so i think they did a great job keeping that in mind.

i think david b. is right. - that's why i wished i had pocketed this re-design job. lots of bucks for almost no re-design work, but "lots of consultancy" (yes, keeping the myspace.com card in my sleeve).

design work $2,000

lots of consultancy $12,000

Wow, they probably paid wayyy to much for that.

And why is the Encyclopedia section the same color as the Web search section?
