Are there any lessons to be learned from this one? It looks clean & neat, but failed the validator miserably...
Well, if it fails validation then there's no point even looking at it, is there? Everyone knows that validation is the ultimate goal in creating a website, after all.
Move on, everyone! Nothing to see here!
And Stylegala fails validation too, oh noes its the apocalypse.
Looks good in both IE6 and FF 1.5, so congrats to this evil invalid site.
Considering the potential audience for this website, I would have thought they would use a fluid layout.
The printing options are overcomplicated, what does 4x6 mean? A print stylesheet would do the job here.
The contrast is overall very low, apart from the advertisments, that dominate the site.
It looks like the designer didn't make it to the menus, community and shop sections.
This could have been good, but it falls short in so many areas.
The print options are great, I guess you dont cook much. 4 x 6 is a notecard size for recipes!
i find the contrast fine, high yellows and deep reds with black and white and some pastel yellows thrown in for spice. not really sure how you make this site an higher contrast.
I see the benifit of the print options now, 'Size: Notecard' would be nicer. The 'full' option isn't much help though :(
Some of the foreground/background combinations fall below the WCAG reccomended limit. But mostly it was a comparision against the dominating ads.
