What became of the idea of pushing the new version to everyone's computers via a windows update?

Testing it ... Using x64 2003 Server here and had a IE7RC before ... It took 3 (yes, three) restarts to have it finally installed ... I mean, it is a server, for web's sake... I dont know what they implemented inside to require so many restarts, but it does not justify it.

I am glad, that it is just a development PC, but i would never do such thing to any working server...

I am very curious finally to test the final release... I hope it will be a bit more stable and secure then the original IE6 was. =O)

Talking about IE7 security ... Check this Secunia advisory

I know it was allready in IE6, but i thought that the security was the main focus of IE developers ... =O)

Microsoft is planning on including IE7 as a critical Windows update in a few weeks. But they are going to prompt users to install it once downloaded, it won't be automatic.
