Err, what?

CSSReboot lives too. You know.. the original. Yet another lame copy CSS website... gotta hate them! For shame.

@Chris, I'm sorry you feel that way, or rather I'm sorry that you have not been keeping up with the CSS Reboot Saga enough to know whats going on before commenting, but you are more than welcome to your opinion.

For all intents and purposes CSSReboot.com is dead and yes i do realize that is the original and no i am not trying to be a copycat, i am trying to keep the idea alive. There is no reason the idea of cssreboot should die off because for whatever reason the owner of cssreboot has let it go.

There have been no responses to numerous of my emails offering to help, there have been no answers to forums in the last two weeks to any questions as to whether the reboot was still going to happen, the gallery is full of mysql errors and has been for the last week, all blog post comments have been closed. The last blog post was a full two weeks ago from the date of this entry.

This site hopes to pick up the torch and keep it moving forward, I would hope people view it in that l

Well, I added my blog to the list of rebooting sites, kinda disappointed that I can't add more. I'll have to see how it goes. Guess I should go work on my blog then.

commentat 23:37 on 21 October 2006, David B. wrote:

Yeah, I hear you Joshua, I limited it to one site per person this go around because of the time involved. Trying to focus on getting this right with the least amount of bugs/errors, i think that is one of the issues going on over at css reboot, while trying to switch programming languages there was a lot of 'new features' also.

I am going with a back to basics approach for this one. If cssreboot indeed does not return and we find ourselves doing this for May 1st, that will definately be top of the list.

No time like the present Joshua, take a look at your account now, multiple site reboots!

Thanks a lot David. :)

Now I better go pop on some music and finish off my blog and... actually start on my portfolio.

I signed up ... just not sure about making a Nov 1st reboot. Wasn't really planning on the CSS reboot ... but if I can throw something together in time I'll be posting.

I signed up too ... glad to see the reboot tradition continue...

I signed up but I'm not sure I'll be able to make the Nov 1st deadline with everything else I've got to do.

The whole idea of CSS rebooting is based on a deadline, so it's not a bad idea to have a back-up plan, and alternate headquarters. It amazes me when people think they can run such huge projects as the original, and don't have a good developer on board.

Nice job david, good luck to both sites!

I probably would of went with goReboot.com lol!

@tg ... what does GoreBoot.com have to do with rebooting? :) On a side note ... good domain name that is still available. Too bad I never would want to run a site like that.

Well, my blog is almost done. So, I figured might as well go for the hat-trick. ;)

CSSReboot got sold once:

http://www.sitepoint.com/marketplace/auction/4

That was back in March '05 though....

Maybe the person launched it before it got sold and the new owner couldn't be bothered to continue the tradition?

commentat 15:27 on 23 October 2006, Joshua Kendall wrote:

Actually, that's when it launched, it was listed "Listed: 28 Jun 2006".

They posted in the blog Today. So maybe something is happening as the date approaches.

This is pete from cssreboot

Sorry I missed this, ever since stylegala erased my news post about the cssreboot signup going live I have not been visiting (often).

cssreboot.com is not dead - over 300 reboots are scheduled.

I have had family issues taking up any free time I had. IBeen through 4 programmers I have hired to help me complete the website... they all fizzled out. sounds like we need a programmerReboot. I haven't even had time to get back to prospective sponsors.

The good news is I will start working on the May 1 07 reboot right after Nov 1st.
