Do you have any other 5 year old CSS tricks you want to share?
wow....post something and the wannabe design snobs just come right at ya...
Besides...just cause you know it, doesn't mean it can't be useful to someone else.
Hey, I'm not a wannabe ... I AM a design snob. :)
Its ok, I understand the need to defend your tutorial.
I don't think unstructure is a wannabe design snob... maybe a design snob ;).
As useful as this may be it is a old and outdated technique. I think people are moving beyond the "frames look."
But if you only want positive feedback about things then I wouldn't post publically. Or least only post it on sites where you'll receive only praise.
Apologies to unstructure for the knee-jerk reaction....
having a bad day...shouldn't take it out on you.
I've been designing tableless/css/html-strict/standards since 2002/2003 that said; I think many developers have NOT adopted to standards because early adopters have moved on from teaching the basics.
We shouldn't just preach it, we also need to teach and re-teach it...there is always a new batch of new comers that need to be brought in.
Todd, you did nothing wrong.
Absolutely justified. It may not be news to you, unstructure, but that does not mean that there aren't people out there who do find CSS tutorials useful and find themselves at a different learning level than you are. Unless Stylegala is not meant for people who might still be learning CSS, I find it completely fine to see people writing about CSS basics, too. We all started out at some point, even you have, unstructure. :)
Did I say he was wrong for posting it? I thought I was being funny ... no matter. Also @maleika .... so you know I had no need to learn CSS, as everyone knows I was born with the knowledge of CSS encoded directly into my DNA.
Darn it, unstructure. I wish I had some of your DNA. :-(
Direct Knowledge Encoding....I like it.
That's pretty clever.
