Image Replace Class

I’ve been using this image replacement technique for a while now. It’s nothing revolutionary, as similar approaches have been done, but the way I do it makes it a no-brainer.

You're right this wasn't revolutionary.

@Dan - It's a handy simplification - no more, no less.

It might not be revolutionary, but I for one have not seen this before. I like the fact that no extra markup is needed and how the !important rule works to make the class override the #id.

Tested it in MAC:FF,Safari,Camino,IE5 PC:IE5,IE5.5,IE6,FF,Opera,Netscape and it works just fine.

My pleasure David - glad you like it. That should hopefully pay you back (in a small way) for the huge amount of inspiration I've got from your site over the years ;)

I do something very similar on several sites, however I use a different method of image replacement.

Thanks for sharing. :)
