It’s always amazing to see some people calling themself creative, but always ripping off other people designs.

Also, I hate when people are confusing "Branding" and "Logos". "Branding" is not limited to a logo.

He suck!

This raised a question for me. Most people here know that the owner of SG did not design this site. I wonder if it invokes the same amount of frustation or feeling of being cheated if you didn't design the site but you are still the owner.

Of course it does - as Eric said, there's a lot involved in creating a brand, and when your product is a website the aesthetic plays an enormous role. It's offensive from a business standpoint and an ethical standpoint.

The two sites are like chalk and cheese. I can see some similarities but the underlying structure is quite different and overall poorly done. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

who cares? seriously, isn't this a bit '99 to be worried about a site rip? were you suddenly confused that some obscure site on the web was stylegala?

sack up and create something news worthy instead of telling on people.

I agree with matt, I mean how many flavors of vanilla are there when you go to the grocery store and look in the ice cream case. Probably no less than 10. Vanilla is vanilla until you throw the sprinkle mix in ;)

Rips are not news item's it's always irked me when they get posted, i mean if it helps the offending party to take it down fine, otherwise it's temporary news at best.

A pointless copy. Absolutely no style.

David Hellsing was the designer of this site.

I suppose it's a given that he was not involved in this RIP.ed sites layout?

What sometimes happens is that stubborn client who loves the design of site X and won't be satisfied until he sees the replica with his name on it. But I would assume here that it was just laziness.

It is quite similar, but let's be honest it's a plain 3 column layout. It's not like there is a bunch of paths or images that are exactly the same. So they use a horizontal stacked navigation in a different place. I just don't see anything earth shattering about the design that could be considered "ripped". Sure it looks similar, but I'm not sure you would have a terrible time finding other 3 column sites that look similar.

Incredible! It's not enough that they made such a cheap copy... We are also giving them free traffic by posting their link here! I just hate it when that happens!
