wow, so nothing is sacred, nice way to go to logopond and simply be 'inspired ' by the image size so that its very easy to entice those users to submit work there, very original...

The grey text on grey background is a chore to read, here on my home monitor, granted it's not a high-contrast LCD type.

I like the way the site stretches 100%.

Not be a hater, but you probably should have tested the site before publicizing it. Check the links.

Um I didn't make the site just thought it was cool. With the combination of Logos, business cards, flash websites and css websites it's a great resource. If you find something wrong with the site I suggest contacting them and letting them know mistakes happen.

I understand, David, that you might feel threatened by a new site popping up which serves a similar (yet extended) purpose as yours. However, to be fair, the image size isn't identical (albeit, only 5px off). Faveup also uses the same image size for its Flash and CSS sections, so I don't think it was based solely on Logopond's image proportions. What I don't understand is why you feel the need to spout off about something like this, simply because Faveup is a "competitor" of Logopond. Logopond will continue to exist because it is an established resource and because of the value it provides. What is of more concern to me is the elitist attitude of your post.

Thank you for your rebuttal anonymous 'B'. First let me say that I nor logopond feel 'threated' or did my post show any type of elitist attitude. I'm not even sure where you got that from?

Simply because the flash and css sections have the same image size doesn't mean that the base size was derived from logoponds image size being that the logos are the 'main' feature when you type faveup.

My point is this. If eden creative's goal is to take over market share of various resource sections of the design community, then fair game and so be it, but if their aim is to simply provide an additional resource to the design community and they where inspired to create this site in response to seeing other resources yet separate resources, then to me in terms of being the 'source' for freelancers to go and collaborate and share idea, ect. then a conversation 'could' have been had.

This is not about being afraid of competition, this is about fair play all around...

Hey guys! I'm Collis - who put together the Faveup site! Thanks Stylegala for featuring us, I've always wanted to get one of our projects linked up here!

Anyhow thought I'd chime in and say actually I'm a big fan of Logopond and it's a great community and more importantly it's where I go for logo inspiration.

Anyhow so when we decided to make an inspiration site and I needed some logos to uses in my design mockups ... guess where I went :-) That's why they are the same size, well actually they're a little different because I think I rounded up when I was doing the actual HTML. But anyhow, its nothing sinister, and no we're not trying to take Logopond's community away - something I don't actually even thing we'd be capable of! We're just designers as well and we decided to make a gallery that showcases lots of different types of design. Actually I'm hoping to expand it in the future to include different type of print work like brochures and posters eventually.

Collis I have tried to reach Cyan or Jun (offline so to speak), but have not heard back, can you send me an email at cd@climaxdesigns.com, I really have no issue with your company or the site, its more like being an advertising agency and waking up one morning to find that the AIGA has opened up an ad agency across the street from you. You know they have your best interest in mind, but being that they are SO large it raises an eyebrow.

That can go in two directions, you can then pull in and try to gird your loins, or you can walk across the street and ask if you can show them around own and introduce them to other people.

I would rather take the latter road and walk across the street and help introduce the behemoth to the locals in hopes that everyone grows. Surprise is all you should read into any of my initial comments.

i for one welcome faveup - thanks for coming up with this website & concept that feels very refreshing and inspirational at the same time. i love it.

i even love the design of faveup: an inspiration site that has a good taste when it comes to its own design, look & feel - that speaks volumes.

thumbs up.
